Harness Manufacturing Intern (Spring 2026)

The Harness Manufacturing Intern will support the design, build, and continuous improvement of wire harness and cable assembly processes, providing hands-on exposure to production environments and manufacturing documentation.

Responsibilities

Support manufacturing engineers with process documentation and work instruction review
Assist with wire harness and cable assembly builds, including cutting, stripping, crimping, labeling, and lacing
Participate in quality inspections
Help analyze manufacturing issues such as defects, rework, and throughput constraints
Assist with equipment qualification, tooling and fixture improvements, and test setups
Support DFM/DFA feedback to engineering teams
Collect and review production data for process improvement initiatives

Required

Currently pursuing a four-year degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
A passion for hardware development, including working in a fast-paced environment and hands-on design and development
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize
Strong communication skills
Familiarity with spacecraft systems and operation
Must be onsite 5 days a week
U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status Required

Preferred

Hands-on experience in designing, building, and testing any type or hardware
Experience working a laboratory or industrial environment
Experience in CAD
Direct electrical or mechanical design experience
