Responsibilities
Assume responsibility and accountability for direct and indirect patient care
Assist with activities, personal care, comfort measures, and maintenance of a safe and clean environment
Assist with certain test/procedures done to a specific patient population under the direction and supervision of an RN
May be asked to assist in covering department secretary duties
Support the nursing and medical staff in an effort to provide optimum patient outcomes
Qualification
Required
High school graduate or equivalent
Phlebotomy training required
Cognitive, technical and interpersonal skills required to deliver direct and indirect care under the direction of a RN
Cooperation and strong 'team' focus required
Must be knowledgeable and demonstrate competency in current caregiver practices, which are unit/age specific
Preferred
Phlebotomy certification preferred
