1+ years expSPX Technologies is a global company that builds innovative solutions for a safer and more efficient world. The Welder Intern will be responsible for fusing metal materials using MIG and TIG welding, working with various materials to fit and assemble metal components into structures.

Responsibilities
Weld a variety of material such as sheet metal, carbon steel, aluminium, stainless steel and copper with no leaks
Perform weldments with exceptional appearance
Perform inter-piping, including fitting, aligning and adjustments
Operate hand-welding and flame-cutting equipment such as oxyacetylene torch
Read blueprints and drawings to identify welding measurements and position
Troubleshoot product issues with assistance
Monitor equipment operation to ensure proper heat settings and weld tip
Perform preventative maintenance on weld machines
Use a variety of air and electric hand tools
Assist in training Welder I & II
Perform leak test
Operate crane and forklift
Ensure compliance with safety protocols by wearing protective glasses, gloves, masks, ear plugs, and boots
Keep an organized and clean work area
Additional duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
1-2 years of experience with MIG and TIG
1-2 years of experience in manufacturing operation
Must be able to pass a 6g certification weld test with MIG and TIG
Read a tape measure and ruler and convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions
High school diploma or GED required
Preferred
Organized, self-starter, with the ability to work unsupervised while meeting all product quality requirements
Ability to weld pipe/tubing leak free
Experience welding steel, stainless steel, carbon steel and aluminum
Ability to read mechanical engineered drawings
Knowledge of engineered specified tolerances
