InternOpelousas General Health System is seeking a Nurse Intern for RN Clinical Students. The Nurse Intern will perform routine duties in caring for patients under the supervision of nursing staff.

Responsibilities
Performs routine duties in caring for patients’ needs and activities of daily living, i.e., hygiene, comfort, ambulation
Functions as an assistant to the nurse as assigned
Documents and maintains data or patient’s record
Demonstrates and promotes an awareness of patient’s age, growth, development, and cultural / spiritual
Acts as a patient advocate
Cooperates as a member of the nursing unit, department and overall hospital team
Participates in performance improvement
Performs related work as required
Communicates pertinent data to appropriate parties
Maintains patient confidentiality
Conducts himself/herself effectively in stressful situations
Approaches situations with distressed patients, families and visitors in a calm, professional manner
Maintains a safe and clean environment
Qualification
Required
Must be enrolled in a RN program approved by the LA State Board of Nursing and have completed first semester of nursing clinicals
