Manufacturing Engineer

Responsibilities
New Product Introduction (NPI) project analysis and planning
Feasibility studies for site optimization for existing and new processes
Improve overall cost structure and facility efficiency
Detailed project planning including all required project tasks, resources, costs, and critical path timeline design manufacturing assembly processes
PFMEA creation
Drive Lean principles manufacturing principles
Capital planning and procurement
Design and direct the acquisition, design, fabrication and repair of assembly equipment and machines and related capital planning
Participate in Collaborative Product and Process Development
Understand and communicate material deviation process
Provide analysis and recommendations for engineering product designs
Qualification
Required
Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes
Manufacturing Processes: Knowledge of existing product manufacturing methods, technologies and processes; ability to execute, plan, manage and monitor the entire manufacturing process
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment
Preferred
Knowledge of Caterpillar product structure
Experience in Caterpillar Product Release Work Bench (PRWB)
Experience in Teamcenter Lifecycle Visualization, preferably VPPa
Prior experience in similar role
Lean Certification such as Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
Project management experience
Proficiency in project planner software such as Primavera or Microsoft Project Planner and other software, such as AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks, Python
Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams
Proficiency in print reading, GD&T, and ability to read CMM reports
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Advanced proficiency in Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI
Proficiency in 2D and 3D modeling software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks
