Employee Benefits Account Manager

Spherient Advisors is seeking an Employee Benefits Account Manager who will serve as the primary link between the insurance brokerage, insurance carriers, and the employer. The role involves ensuring that employee benefits run smoothly, remain compliant, and stay cost-effective while managing renewals, open enrollment support, and compliance oversight.

Responsibilities

Leading the annual renewal process by analyzing premium increases, negotiating with carriers for better rates, and presenting alternative plan designs to the employer
Building benefit platforms for open enrollment (e.g. employee navigator) and creating enrollment materials for employees explaining benefit changes and how to use the plans
Acting as the 'middleman' to resolve complex claims issues, billing discrepancies, and eligibility disputes between the employer and the insurance company
Ensuring the employer remains compliant with federal and state regulations, such as the Affordable Care Act (ACA), ERISA, and COBRA
Gathering data from the client to 'shop' the market, sending out Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to various carriers, and creating spreadsheets showing side-by-side comparisons of the results
