Senior Legal Counsel
Responsibilities
Manage a high-volume Trusts & Estates practice, serving high-net-worth individuals and families
Deliver complex estate planning solutions, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advanced wealth-transfer strategies
Collaborate closely with clients, financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals to create fully coordinated estate plans
Lead trust and estate administrations from intake through final distribution—asset marshaling, trust funding, accounting, and more
Ensure full compliance with estate, gift, and fiduciary income tax laws, preparing and reviewing Forms 706, 709, and 1041
Provide expert legal counsel to fiduciaries, trustees, executors, and beneficiaries on rights, responsibilities, and complex legal issues
Mentor and supervise associate attorneys and staff, supporting growth and professional development within the practice
Support the firm’s strategic direction by identifying business development opportunities and expanding practice visibility
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Active Massachusetts bar admission in good standing
Extensive experience in estate planning, trust administration, and tax structuring for high-net-worth individuals and families
