The role involves assisting the Lead Pressman with the operation of a large offset printing machine, including tasks such as reviewing job specifications, installing and removing printing materials, and monitoring the printing process.

Responsibilities
Review job order specifications and department instruction sheets, to ensure that the specified materials are used and specifications are followed
Installs and removes printing and coating blankets
Packs plate and blanket cylinders to machine and paperboard specifications
Sets and adjusts double sheet detectors, side guide, head stops and gripper fingers
Monitors offset powder supply and replenish as necessary
Retrieves, installs and removes printing plates
All other tasks as assigned
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 1 year experience operating a multi-color offset, flexo or gravure printing press, or serving as an assistant/2nd Pressman on a multi-color offset printing crew is required
Ability to read, write, and perform simple arithmetic computations, (Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, & Division), including comfort working with fraction and decimals is required
Should be attentive, show initiative, have a strong desire to learn and progress, be capable of performing detailed examinations and remain attentive to details which includes the ability to concentrate amid distractions
Accurate color discrimination
