Responsibilities
Install and implement LAN and wireless infrastructure including switches, cabling, access points (Client), and other components
Troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex network issues and implement root cause prevention
Monitor and optimize network performance, and document incident resolution paths
Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), network diagrams, and technical documentation
Assist in hardware and network design, configuration, and infrastructure planning
Evaluate new networking technologies and provide integration recommendations
Maintain a complete and updated network equipment inventory and assist in lifecycle planning
Qualification
Required
Basic to moderately complex knowledge of data network services and data communications
Moderately complex to complex knowledge of data network design methods and equipment configuration requirements
Strong understanding of office automation systems, information processing operations, fiber optics, and microcomputer hardware/software as they relate to current data network connectivity trends
Knowledge of computer system analysis, design, testing, debugging, and maintenance techniques
Ability to assist with preparing and presenting technical and non-technical reports in a clear and concise manner
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
Relevant professional experience in information technology systems or a related area may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis
Preferred
Advanced knowledge of network configuration and protocols
Skilled in cable management, patch panels, fiber optics, and troubleshooting within telecom/network closets
Ability to produce clear, comprehensive documentation of configurations, procedures, and incident logs
Familiarity with wireless infrastructure, cloud networking (SD-WAN, Azure), and VoIP technologies
