The role involves hands-on responsibilities in building managed IT services and will evolve into technical leadership as the business grows.

Responsibilities
Serve as the primary escalation point for technical issues across client environments
Design, implement, and support SMB IT environments including: Microsoft 365 / Entra ID, Windows Server & Active Directory, Networking, firewalls, VPNs, Backup, recovery, and security solutions
Lead client onboarding, migrations, and infrastructure projects
Work directly with business owners and end users to understand needs and recommend solutions
Establish and document technical standards, processes, and best practices
Select, configure, and optimize MSP tools (RMM, PSA, documentation)
Help shape the future team structure and mentor additional technicians as we grow
Participate in on-call support on a limited, reasonable basis (shared as the team grows)
Qualification
Required
5+ years in IT, with meaningful experience in an MSP environment
Significant MSP experience supporting multiple SMB clients
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Azure AD / Entra ID
Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server & Active Directory
Strong hands-on experience with Virtualization (VMware and/or Hyper-V)
Strong hands-on experience with Networking, firewalls, VPNs, security fundamentals
Familiarity with MSP tooling such as RMM, PSA, and documentation platforms
Comfortable being hands-on while also thinking strategically
Desire to grow into a technical lead or management role over time
Ability to work without heavy layers or bureaucracy
Enjoy solving complex problems and owning outcomes end-to-end
Willingness to participate in on-call support on a limited, reasonable basis
