National Solar Technologies is a growing solar installer in suburban Buffalo, NY, seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Solar Project Manager to drive successful commercial solar installations from design through commissioning. The role involves connecting sales, engineering, installation teams, and customers to deliver exceptional solar projects.

Responsibilities

Perform site surveys and use solar design software (Helioscope preferred) to analyze and optimize system layouts
Research, evaluate, and select materials and components; create comprehensive bills of materials for each project
Work seamlessly with local agencies, municipalities, utilities, subcontractors, vendors, and installation crews to keep projects on track
Review solar energy system drawings and schematics; provide technical support during design and installation phases
Meet with customers, subcontractors, and crews at job sites; perform commissioning and ensure smooth handoffs
Collaborate with engineers, sales staff, and field teams to optimize costs, productivity, and customer satisfaction while maintaining safety standards

Required

High School Diploma or GED
5+ years of hands-on experience with technical installation on commercial solar systems
Strong ability to read and understand solar energy system drawings and schematics
Excellent communication and coordination skills across multiple stakeholder groups
Detail-oriented with strong project management capabilities

Preferred

2 or 4-year Technical Degree
Experience with Helioscope or similar solar design software (Aurora, PVsyst)
Background managing commercial solar projects from 50kW to multi-MW scale
Familiarity with utility interconnection processes and AHJ permitting
