Responsibilities

Assist in designing and optimizing manufacturing processes
Perform line balancing, capacity analysis, time studies, and labor costing
Help implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives
Assist in developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing processes
Assist in procuring new manufacturing equipment and tooling
Help create preventive maintenance programs for equipment
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues
Ensure equipment and tooling meet safety and regulatory standards
Collaborate with quality engineers to resolve quality issues
Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality problems
Monitor and analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement
Assist with Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
Work with production staff to ensure manufacturing processes are understood and followed
Communicate effectively with suppliers, vendors, and other stakeholders
Help create and maintain documentation of manufacturing processes
Prepare reports on manufacturing performance, including metrics like cycle time, yield, and downtime
Ensure manufacturing processes comply with safety regulations and company policies
Conduct safety audits and implement corrective actions
Participate in projects to improve manufacturing processes, reduce costs, and increase efficiency
Help develop project plans, timelines, and budgets
Help analyze manufacturing costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction
Stay updated on the latest manufacturing technologies and trends
Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve manufacturing processes

Required

Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
Be a U.S. citizen or have the legal right to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future
Basic understanding of manufacturing processes
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles (Kaizen, 5S, etc.)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Preferred

Understanding of PLC (Programmable Logic Control) is a plus
Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification is a plus but not required
