Responsibilities

Assist in the review of existing bridge file documentation, plans, and analyses
Assist during field inspections and create reports to present findings and recommendations
Perform structural analyses to determine safe load carrying capacities
Assist in the development of bridge rehabilitation design, plans, and specifications

Qualification

Bridge analysis softwareMicroStation/AutoCADCivil/structural engineeringEngineer-in-training certificationVerbal communicationWritten communication

Required

Enrolled in an accredited engineering program pursuing degree in civil/structural engineering
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly related to technical topics
Physically capable of performing all field work tasks, including climbing, carrying heavy equipment, etc

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (structural focus) in pursuit of a master's degree
Willing to travel for up to 2 weeks at a time during internship, nationally
Engineer-in-training certification with ability to obtain professional licensure within four years
Working knowledge of bridge analysis software (AASHTOWare BrR) and MicroStation/AutoCAD
