Responsibilities

Design, analyze, and maintain medium and high-voltage electrical systems (480V, 4.16kV, 13.8kV, 34.5kV) across industrial plants, substations, and utility interfaces
Develop electrical power and control systems for large-scale process facilities, including ASU, LNG, and CO? applications
Ensure safe, reliable, and efficient power distribution within defined plant limits while protecting personnel and equipment from electrical hazards
Support system performance, load management, and grid or utility coordination
Develop and review one-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and electrical/control system architectures
Specify and select electrical equipment including transformers, switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, and associated instrumentation
Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations (IEEE, IEC, NEC, NFPA, OSHA, NESC, and utility requirements)
Collaborate with mechanical, process, and automation teams to integrate electrical systems into overall plant design
Support commissioning, troubleshooting, testing, and on-site startup activities as required
Conduct and oversee high-voltage testing (HiPot, insulation resistance, partial discharge) and verify grounding, phasing, and system interconnections
Implement and enforce electrical safety practices including arc-flash mitigation, lockout/tagout, grounding, and safe approach distances
Provide engineering support for construction, including preparation of engineering packages, vendor drawing reviews, procurement support, and participation in FAT and SAT activities

Required

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
7+ years of experience in electrical engineering
Strong knowledge of power distribution, motor controls, and automation systems
Experience with 2D/3D CAD software (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar)
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical and control system issues
Willingness to travel for short-term, including international assignments when needed

Preferred

Industrial gases, ASU, LNG, or CO? equipment experience
PE certification
Familiarity with PLC/DCS control systems and instrumentation
