Mid LevelEDM Financial LLC is a growing public-sector finance firm providing outsourced accounting, financial management, and advisory services to municipalities across Pennsylvania. They are seeking a full-time Municipal Accountant to support multiple municipal entities by performing accounting, financial reporting, and compliance functions.
Responsibilities
Maintain general ledger accounts for multiple municipal clients
Process and review accounts payable, cash disbursements, and journal entries
Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end reconciliations
Assist with budget preparation, amendments, and financial analysis
Prepare financial reports for managers, councils, boards, and authorities
Support audit preparation, including schedules, workpapers, and auditor requests
Ensure compliance with GASB
Collaborate with EDM team members to improve processes, efficiency, and controls
Communicate professionally with municipal officials, staff, and external partners
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Municipal or governmental accounting experience strongly preferred
Knowledge of fund accounting and public-sector financial reporting
Strong understanding of internal controls and audit requirements
High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines independently
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable working in a fully remote, technology-driven environment
Preferred
Experience with municipal accounting software systems preferred
