Responsibilities

Lead and/or perform rack-and-pinion elevator installs, jumps, tie-ins, commissioning, and dismantles
Execute monthly maintenance and 90-day inspections, ensuring complete documentation and compliance with manufacturer requirements, customer expectations, and applicable codes/standards as required by the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ)
Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues, including controls, safety circuits, motors/drives, brakes, limit devices, gates/interlocks, landing equipment, and power interfaces
Diagnose failures, determine root cause, implement corrective actions, and restore service safely with minimal downtime
Maintain readiness of tools, test equipment, and critical spare parts; recommend appropriate hub stocking levels
Act as the primary on-site point of contact for elevator-related execution with GC/CM teams, superintendents, safety personnel, and key trades
Coordinate scheduling and logistics for installs, jumps, dismantles, maintenance windows, inspections, outages, deliveries, rigging/crane time, and site access constraints
Conduct jobsite walk-downs to confirm site conditions, including staging/laydown areas, travel paths, landing locations, tie-in elevations, hazards, and temporary power availability
Provide clear, proactive communication regarding outages, return-to-service timing, and required site actions
Partner with engineering, operations, and sales teams to pre-plan projects prior to mobilization, including:
Scope validation (capacity, mast height, landings, tie-in plans)
Constructability reviews and site constraint identification
Schedule integration (milestones, jump cycles, critical path impacts)
Resource and logistics planning (labor, trucking, equipment transfers, special tools)
Provide field-driven input to support bid accuracy, schedule feasibility, and risk mitigation
Maintain awareness of jurisdictional requirements for construction elevator/hoist work across the assigned travel region
Hold and maintain required licenses where already qualified and obtain additional licenses as needed to support project execution
Complete required applications, renewals, continuing education (if applicable), and documentation to remain in good standing
Coordinate with leadership to ensure licensing status aligns with upcoming project schedules and mobilization needs
Promote and enforce company safety standards and jobsite requirements, including pre-task planning (JHAs/JSAs), LOTO, fall protection, and exclusion zone control
Identify hazards and deficiencies and exercise stop-work authority when conditions are unsafe or non-compliant
Maintain audit-ready records, including service logs, inspection reports, corrective actions, deficiency closeouts, and as-built updates
Mentor and support branch crews and technicians; help standardize best practices, checklists, and procedures across the hub

Required

Demonstrated experience supporting construction elevators and/or rack-and-pinion hoists in field environments
Strong mechanical aptitude with proven electrical troubleshooting capability
Ability to read and interpret manuals, wiring diagrams, technical bulletins, and engineered installation plans
Proven ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and manage jobsite schedules and logistics
Strong customer service, communication, and documentation discipline
Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain required licenses (with company support)
Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly

Preferred

Hands-on experience with Alimak 650 and/or Beta Max 2000 (or comparable rack-and-pinion systems)
Prior leadership of installs, jumps, dismantles, and preventative maintenance programs
Familiarity with inspection expectations and AHJ coordination
Formal project management experience in construction environments
OEM training, technical certifications, or relevant mechanical/electrical trade credentials
