Senior LevelCOVET IT INC is seeking a Data Platform Architect to serve as both the technical intake owner and a hands-on configurator for platform requests within the watsonx.data program. The role involves managing incoming platform requests, performing configurations, and ensuring compliance with governance and security requirements.

Responsibilities
Manage and triage incoming platform requests (new data sources, pipelines, user access, governance metadata, compute resources, etc.)
Perform hands-on configuration within the data platform
Translate business requirements into technical setup steps for the platform
Design light architecture artifacts such as data flow diagrams, ingestion patterns, or metadata mappings. builds
Work directly with SMEs (Data Integration, Governance, AI/BI, Operations) to coordinate more complex technical builds
Validate that requests meet governance, security,and operational requirements before they enter execution
Support troubleshooting and validation of newly configured connections, data products, or metadata registrations
Maintain the intake backlog, prioritization, and communication with requesters and leadership
Identify architectural risks and ensure platform consistency across configurations
Qualification
Required
Strong skills with modern cloud data platforms
Ability to manage and triage incoming platform requests
Hands-on configuration experience within data platforms
Ability to translate business requirements into technical setup steps
Experience designing light architecture artifacts such as data flow diagrams, ingestion patterns, or metadata mappings
Ability to work directly with SMEs (Data Integration, Governance, AI/BI, Operations)
Experience validating requests against governance, security, and operational requirements
Ability to support troubleshooting and validation of newly configured connections, data products, or metadata registrations
Experience maintaining intake backlog, prioritization, and communication with requesters and leadership
Ability to identify architectural risks and ensure platform consistency across configurations
