Trade & Industry Analyst
The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) is seeking a Trade & Industry Analyst to support national security programs related to the U.S. defense industrial base. The role involves program management, regulatory oversight, and analysis of trade and industry data.

Responsibilities
Providing program support to the office's national security programs to support U.S. defense industrial base and preparedness activities. The office's programs include: the Defense Priorities and Allocations System, Offsets in Defense Trade, Department of Defense international agreements review, NATO, defense trade advocacy, Continuity of Operations, and National Defense Stockpile Market Impact Committee work
Independently performs business and industry program management regulatory and associated functions which address mission elements critical to agency priorities and objectives
Researches, analyzes, and interprets complex trade and industry data and information as they relate to office's programs
Identifies problems in program operations, makes recommendations to resolve complicated problems involving regulatory compliance, technical obstacles, or diverse government-private sector perspectives; or delivery of government services and programs of moderate influence on business, industry, or the public
Performs complex analytical, program management, regulatory oversight, or similar work requiring understanding of, and addressing business, industry or related issues and objectives
Analyzes and evaluates a range of significant programs and issues related to the U.S. industrial base, national security, and/or critical technologies
Supports the office's activity to resolve problems associated with regulatory compliance

This position requires a SECRET/SCI CLEARANCE: Any required investigations and clearances must be completed before the selectee can be placed in the position
You must successfully pass a background investigation. This may include a credit check, a review of financial issues, as well as certain criminal offenses and illegal use of possession of drugs
A probationary or trial period may be required
Selective Service: Males born after 12/31/59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service

Time-in-grade/band requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement unless eligible for special hiring authority, reinstatement eligible, non-current Federal employee applying as a VEOA eligible which do not require time-in-grade/band
Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service
To qualify at the GS-12 level: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 in the Federal service
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: Providing program support to national security programs that support U.S. defense industrial base and preparedness activities; Assisting senior staff members on complex issues; conducting research; developing options; assisting in document reviews; and recommending further action; and Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with interagency/interdepartmental partners and other stakeholders
