Responsibilities

Develop case analysis and litigation strategy based on client circumstances
Communicate regularly with clients regarding legal strategy, options, and next steps
Draft pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, judgments, and court orders
Represent clients in divorce, child custody, parenting time, and adoption matters
Advocate for clients in mediations, negotiations, evidentiary hearings, motions, and trials
Advise clients on family law issues including support, custody, and related matters
Stay current on developments in family law and relevant court procedures
Manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail

Required

Over five (5) years of litigation experience
Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Michigan

Proven ability to manage client relationships professionally and effectively
Juris Doctor (JD) degree
Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in legal research and drafting
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Client-focused mindset with high professional standards

Preferred

At least two (2) years of family law experience preferred
Familiarity with West Michigan county courts
