Law Practice

Responsibilities

Represent children with special needs and their families in legal matters
Assist parents in obtaining the right services for their child, including evaluations and I.E.P. development
Find appropriate public or private school placements and seek public funding for private school placements
Engage in Due Process Hearings and resolve cases without litigation

Qualification

Litigation experienceNYS Bar admissionNegotiation skillsResearch skillsWriting skillsInterpersonal skills

Required

Motivated attorney looking for meaningful work
Strong litigation and negotiation skills
Interest in serving children with special needs and their families
Admitted to NYS Bar or pending bar admission
Strong research, writing and interpersonal skills
Willingness to learn and pour heart and soul into the work

Preferred

Attorneys with litigation experience representing school districts or parents in this field of law
Attorneys with litigation experience such as Assistant District Attorneys seeking higher earning potential
Attorneys with personal experience/knowledge in this field
Newly admitted attorneys with a demonstrated interest in this field
