Represent clients in state and local tax litigation and appellate proceedings
Assist in developing legal strategies for complex tax controversy matters
Conduct detailed legal research on statutes, regulations, and case law
Draft briefs, motions, memoranda, and other litigation documents
Support advocacy efforts before courts and administrative agencies
Engage directly with clients to provide strategic legal advice
Collaborate closely with partners and team members on case development
Qualification
Required
2–3 years of law firm litigation experience
Interest or experience in state and local tax, tax controversy, or appellate litigation
Strong writing, advocacy, and analytical skills
Excellent academic record and communication abilities
Client-service mindset with the ability to manage responsibilities independently
Bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction, in good standing
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
Proficiency in legal research and persuasive writing
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Professional judgment and attention to detail
Interest in developing long-term litigation and appellate expertise
Preferred
Clerkship experience preferred but not required
