$75/hr - $100/hrCrossing Hurdles is seeking a Staff / General Accountant for a project-based role. The accountant will be responsible for reconciling bank statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, and preparing financial statements among other accounting duties.
Staffing & Recruiting
Responsibilities
Reconcile bank statements against the general ledger and document reconciling items
Prepare and post journal entries with proper support and account coding
Manage accounts payable and receivable workflows, including invoice coding and cash application
Calculate and record fixed asset depreciation and prepaid amortization
Perform AP/AR subledger to general ledger reconciliations
Reconcile intercompany transactions and prepare elimination entries
Compile monthly financial statements and perform balance sheet flux analysis
Analyze budget versus actual variances and document explanations
Prepare accruals, audit schedules, and supporting documentation for month-end close
Qualification
Required
Strong years of experience in accounting, audit, or financial operations
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial close processes
Hands-on experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or SAP
Advanced proficiency in Excel for reconciliations and journal entries
Excellent attention to detail and documentation standards
Ability to work independently in a remote, contract-based environment
