Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and process accurate customer billing
Maintain and manage accounts receivable, including invoicing, cash application (as needed), reconciliations, and aging analysis
Monitor AR aging and follow up on past-due accounts to ensure timely collections
Analyze billing and AR data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvement
Ensure billing and revenue-related activities comply with company policies, customer contracts, and accounting standards
Reconcile billing sub-ledgers to the general ledger and assist with month-end and quarter-end close activities
Partner with Sales, Customer Success, and Operations to resolve billing issues and customer inquiries
Support audits by providing documentation and explanations related to billing and accounts receivable
Assist the Financial Controller with ad hoc analysis, reporting, and special projects
Contribute to the enhancement and optimization of automated billing and AR systems
Position duties may expand to support and direct other Associate Billing Specialists
Qualification
Required
Bachelors degree in Accounting (required)
Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in billing and accounts receivable, preferably within a software or software services environment
Working knowledge of automated billing systems and ERP platforms
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and explain financial data
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, formulas)
Solid understanding of accounting principles related to revenue recognition and accounts receivable
High attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills
Preferred
Experience billing subscription-based software, SaaS, or professional services
Familiarity with revenue recognition concepts (ASC 606 exposure a plus)
Experience supporting audits or working in a multi-entity environment
