The National Cattlemen's Beef Association is a leading organization representing cattle farmers and ranchers in the U.S. They are seeking a Meeting and Events Intern to gain hands-on experience in event planning, assisting with various responsibilities related to both small meetings and large conventions. The internship will focus on areas such as customer service, event marketing, and overall event production.

Responsibilities

Provides customer assistance to registrants via e-mail and telephone and completes data entry of registration forms into the registration system

Assists with monitoring hotel block pick-ups

Assists with reserved seating charts and VIP experiences

Manages inventory registration supplies and places orders with vendors to ensure sufficient quantities for meetings

Use the Function Sheet System to enter details for events taking place during small and large meetings that will be included in the specs book sent to the hotels and convention center (date, time, room set-up, catering & audiovisual needs, etc.)

Assists with marketing the convention, including convention website updates and email marketing campaigns

Acts as support staff during events, including the Cattle Industry Convention and NCBA Tradeshow

Required

Must be currently enrolled in a hospitality, tourism, or event management program or an agriculture, animal science, agriculture communications, or agricultural marketing program or a comparable degree program with an interest in event production

Must have intermediate knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and the internet

Must be innovative with event coordination skills, pleasant, outgoing, and at ease meeting new people

Strong customer service skills required

Must be organized and detail oriented

Must possess excellent communication skills (oral, written) and interpersonal skills

Proficiency with Microsoft office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
