Responsibilities
Assist in the collection of a wide range of site data, including topography, environmental features, property boundaries, and engineering information
Use survey tools and methods to capture accurate measurements while learning to identify tree and plant species and navigating a variety of terrain—streams, wetlands, forests, and open fields
Operate or assist with ATVs, UTVs, chainsaws, and hand tools to clear brush and gain access to survey lines
Consistently use proper PPE, maintain a Samsara driving score above 70, and report any safety incidents promptly
Assist in downloading and delivering field data back to the Land Surveying Supervisor to ensure our projects move forward with precision and professionalism
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED
Valid Driver's License
Previous exposure to survey work, construction, or related field
Basic understanding of survey math and terminology
Familiarity with survey tools and methods and equipment
Ability to lift 50 lbs
Ability to walk over uneven surfaces and up/down hills
Ability to climb on construction equipment
Ability to work outdoors and in inclement weather
Consistently use proper PPE
Maintain a Samsara driving score above 70
Report any safety incidents promptly
Preferred
Survey-related certifications
Chainsaw safety training or operation experience
Knowledge of construction design principles or methods
Familiarity with identifying trees or other vegetation in the field
