Radiation Safety Technician

Responsibilities

Assist in the issuance of radiation health dosimetry
Conduct radiological surveys
Maintain records that ensure facilities and equipment comply with relevant portions of 10 CFR
Update training materials to meet current regulatory requirements
Perform surveillances of radiation activities
Maintain an inventory of calibrated radiation detection instruments
Perform inventories or radioactive sources
Review/ update operating and emergency procedures

Required

Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance
Undergraduate degree majoring in physics or engineering (mechanical, chemical)
1-3yrs working experience as a physicist or engineer
Ability to communicate and convey information effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy
Identify problems and provide necessary technical support to resolve issues
Experience organizing records, documents, and data

Preferred

Experience with radiological activities as either a researcher or regulator (preferred but not required)
