Responsibilities
Manage a pre-litigation caseload of approximately 200+ personal injury matters with strong team support
Provide leadership and mentorship to case managers on day-to-day case strategy and medical treatment coordination
Oversee case investigations, identify key medical and legal experts, and guide the development of strong demands
Review, edit, and approve settlement demands prepared by the demand team
Evaluate case value and settlement opportunities to ensure optimal outcomes
Supervise two pre-litigation case managers and maintain open communication with clients and staff
Conduct legal research, oversee liability investigations, and review medical records and treatment summaries
Negotiate settlements and medical liens as appropriate, always prioritizing client interests
Collaborate closely with litigation teams to determine when cases should move forward to filing
Qualification
Required
J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in the California State Bar
2–5+ years of experience in personal injury law with a strong focus on pre-litigation
Proven negotiation skills and a track record of achieving successful settlements
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational abilities
Knowledge of medical treatment, insurance issues (Medi-Cal, Medicare, Kaiser, etc.), and lien negotiation
Keen judgment in assessing case value and recognizing when to settle, file, or refer out
