Responsibilities

Fertilization and weed control of turf areas

Pruning existing shrubs and trees

Weed control and mulching of gardens

Irrigation of gardens and turf areas

Renovation of problem areas

Pest Control

Spring/fall clean-up of grounds

Winterization of flower and shrub beds

Soil and chemical analysis

Mows, trims, and rakes lawns when necessary

Performs snow removal from sidewalks, pathways, and driveways

Applies sand and salt on slippery services when applicable

Performs window washing

Performs picking up and emptying trash

Performs blacktop and pothole repair

Performs fence, post, railing, bumpers repair

Performs snow removal duties

Operates power equipment as directed by Head Groundskeeper

Assists with routine preventive maintenance on power equipment

Ensures all operations are carried out in safe manner

Ensures all chemicals are handled, applied, stored, and disposed in a safe manner as instructed by Head Groundskeeper

Must be able to safely operate all ground keeping equipment and able to work at heights while operating aerial lift platform equipment

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent years of experience

Must be familiar with grounds keeping techniques for lawn, trees, flowers, shrubs, etc

Able to safely operate all grounds keeping equipment (lawn mowers, utility tractor with bucket and blade, skid loader, snowplow truck, dump truck, aerial lift, etc.)

Must be able to perform operator maintenance, minor repairs, adjustments and repairs all grounds keeping equipment

Must be able to determine the need for repairs requiring assistance from the garage mechanics

Requires very good communication skills

A steady progression of skill and the desire/ability to take on increased responsibility

Must have a valid driver's license

Obtain Andersen Corporation material handling equipment operator's license and aerial lift operator license

Outside working in all weather conditions

Occasionally – lift/carry 10-100 pounds

Occasionally – squat, crawl, lift very heavy material

Job requires repetitive action such as simple grasping, firm grasping, fine manipulating. (This includes right and left hands)
