Research Tax Credit Manager

They are seeking a Manager of Research Tax Credit to lead complex R&D tax credit studies, mentor junior team members, and manage key client relationships while driving department initiatives.

Responsibilities

Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for R&D tax credit studies across multiple industries and clients
Independently manage a portfolio of client projects, ensuring scope, budget, and timeline adherence
Provide mentorship and training to Associates and Senior Associates in collaboration with senior leadership
Ensure quality and consistency of RTC study processes and deliverables
Track and log all activities in Salesforce CRM on a daily (preferred) or weekly basis
Partner with technical and financial professionals including engineers, CPAs, attorneys, and MBAs to conduct in-depth analyses
Lead or assist in the analysis of complex technical and financial data for R&D credit qualification
Author and review comprehensive technical documentation to support tax claims
Educate clients on SR&ED regulations and industry best practices
Support departmental initiatives focused on improving efficiency, standardization, and knowledge sharing
Finalize cost analyses and ensure compliance with SR&ED requirements across provinces
Prepare and review the T661 tax form and other supporting documents
Liaise with CRA and clients to monitor and manage claim progress
Lead the invoicing and billing process for assigned projects

Required

Minimum of 1+ years of experience with R&D Tax Credits and government tax incentive programs
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, economics, or a related field from an accredited institution
Demonstrated expertise in R&D tax credit processes, client engagement, and technical documentation
Strong command of tax law, regulatory requirements, and industry developments
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering complex engagements
Ability to travel up to 25% as needed

Preferred

Experience using Salesforce CRM or similar platforms
Advanced degree such as MBA, JD, or LLM is highly preferred
Proven experience mentoring and developing junior professionals
