CNC Brake Press Operator

Columbia Vehicle Group (CVG) designs and manufactures industry-leading, all-electric vehicles for commercial, industrial, and retail markets. They are currently seeking a CNC Press Brake Operator to set up, operate, and maintain CNC brake press equipment to form metal components used in their electric vehicles.

Responsibilities

Set up and calibrate CNC press brake equipment, including tooling selection, bend allowances, back gauges, and die configurations
Operate CNC brake press machinery to form metal parts according to specifications
Adjust machine programs and parameters to maintain accuracy and part quality
Inspect parts before, during, and after production to ensure conformance to blueprints and tolerances
Monitor machine operation to ensure safe and efficient performance
Read and interpret blueprints, bend diagrams, flat patterns, and work instructions
Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, protractors, and height gauges
Navigate computer systems to access drawings, production tables, and record work performed
Lift and move materials up to 50 lbs as required
Stand for extended periods (up to 10 hours per shift)

Required

Preferred

Experience operating CNC press brake or other CNC machinery, or related technical training
Working knowledge of metal materials and how they respond to bending and forming
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with CNC programming concepts, including bend sequencing and tooling selection
