Journeyman Commercial Electrician - Houston TX

Construction

Responsibilities

Work on and around high voltage energized and general electrical equipment
Install various types of electrical conduit systems according to NEC standards
Cut, bend, and run conduit as specified on blueprints
Set up and maintain temporary power systems
Install and maintain grounding systems for all equipment and structures
Install junction boxes, panels, switches, plugs, and fixtures
Terminate wires and cables to electrical equipment, including breakers, control panels, and distribution systems, with technical understanding and quality craftsmanship
Test electrical components for continuity and proper voltage readings per specifications
Build out electrical services and demonstrate knowledge in service applications
Communicate and work under the direction of a Supervisor/Foreman (Licensed Journeyman or Master Electrician)
Able to work well under pressure, especially when facing tight timelines, unexpected delays, or urgent tasks
Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills
Reliable, accountable, and consistent in performing assigned tasks
Safety-conscious and able to follow all instructed safety regulations
Detail-oriented and results-driven
Knowledgeable in the use of electrical tools and equipment
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage administrative functions
Ambitious with a desire to grow within the company
Familiarity with CenterPoint standards preferred

Required

Proficient in interpreting blueprints

Vision – Excellent vision, including color perception, to accurately identify wires and components
Coordination & Balance – Strong hand-eye coordination and balance for precise work on ladders, scaffolding, or elevated platforms
Other Requirements – Must be able to handle a physical workload, possess personal tools, and have reliable transportation
