Student Peer Writing Consultant - Federal Work Study

The University of North Georgia is a multi-campus university focused on educational excellence and leadership development. They are currently seeking a federal work study student to serve as a writing peer consultant, responsible for tutoring students in university-level composition and grammar, as well as assisting with services at the Gainesville Writing Center.

Responsibilities

Read student essays and make suggestions for improvement in content development, organization, formatting, style, and grammar/mechanics
Explain instructor comments/corrections on students’ assignments
Conduct workshops related to composition
Assist in the general operation of the Writing Center, including recording session notes
Perform other duties assigned by supervisor

Required

Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker
Experience with Microsoft Office software, especially Word
