Human Resources Assistant

Powerhouse Recycling is a national, market leading, certified electronics recycling and refurbishment firm that is locally owned and based out of Salisbury, NC since 2008. They are seeking a Human Resources Assistant to support various HR functions including coordination of interviews, managing employee files, and assisting with onboarding processes.

Responsibilities

Must be able to understand and adhere to all safety requirements
Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds individually & more than 50 pounds with a Team Lift (2-person lift)
Reprioritizes actions for immediate implementation of ad-hoc topics or assignments
Understands and utilizes HRIS system to assist with reporting needs, attendance, etc. for the HR Manager
Assists with special projects / planning and setting up employee events and recognition programs
Assists applicants in completing employment applications as needed
Coordinates on-site interviews, drug screens and background checks
Assembles material for new hire packets
Create HR communications such as flyers, announcements, and newsletters
Run occasional errands (e.g., picking up food, gift cards, etc.) / must have valid license & reliable transportation
Manage phone calls, mail, and general HR inquiries
Create, organize, and maintain employee files in both digital and physical formats
Schedule and coordinate interviews with hiring managers
Communicate with candidates and assist with interview logistics
Support onboarding by preparing new hire materials, swag, etc
Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and company information
Securely manage all personnel records and sensitive data
Demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and a positive team attitude
Prior administrative or HR experience strongly preferred
Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment a plus
Knowledge of and proficient in the use of personal computer and a variety of standard business software programs, including Word, Excel, Google Docs, PowerPoint and HRIS system
On-site position in a manufacturing environment with multiple locations
