Senior Analyst Inventory and Workforce Management
Schnuck Markets, Inc. is seeking a Senior Analyst for Inventory and Workforce Management to enhance operational efficiency through data analysis. The role involves managing demand forecasting data and ensuring synchronization between product flow and labor availability to optimize inventory and staffing levels.
Responsibilities
Forecast Management & Data Integrity: Review the master demand forecasts that feeds all downstream systems. Analyze historical data, trends, and outliers to ensure the “base signal”; for both inventory and labor is accurate. Review and determine outliers to sales forecasts and make necessary adjustments to ensure ordering and scheduling accuracy
Inventory Replenishment Logic: Manage and analyze replenishment parameters (safety stock, buy horizons) within the Blue Yonder & Logile suites to ensure optimal in-stock levels and inventory turns based on the demand signal
Workforce Management (WFM) Alignment: Translate case volume and sales forecasts into actionable labor demand data. Ensure the WFM system receives accurate “workload” drivers so store schedules match incoming truck volume
KPI Analysis & Optimization: Monitor key metrics for both inventory (In-Stock %, Days of Supply) and labor (Cases Per Labor Hour, Schedule Effectiveness) to identify misalignment between supply and execution
DSD Management: Ensure proper receiving and tracking of DSD (Direct Store Delivery) supplied products and manage DSD inventory management processes
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business Management, or similar degree
3-6 years combined relevant experience (1-3 years Blue Yonder, Logile replenishment software, 2-3 years experience as a people leader or 1-3 years buyer experience)
Working knowledge of current Microsoft desktop, laptop, and mobile related items: operating systems, email, security, MS Office Suite/Google Suite and Google Big Query
Experience with Blue Yonder and Logile replenishment suite (or similar forecasting tools)
Proficiency in Alteryx or Big Query and Excel for merging disparate data sets (Inventory vs Labor data)
Understanding of labor scheduling logic, labor standards (Labor Standards calculation), and how volume drives labor demand
Understanding of store operations, specifically the receiving-to-shelf process
Strong listening and ability to explain complex data relationships to Store Operations leadership
Ability to evaluate financial and business indicators and translate data into actionable replenishment information
Ability to use logic and methods to solve problems with effective solutions
The ability to understand how a change in one variable (sales forecast) ripples through multiple systems
Ability to look at a missed budget and determine if it was a Labor failure (low productivity) or a Forecast failure (wrong volume prediction)
