Responsibilities
Prepare and process client invoices for legal services, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client billing arrangements and internal policies
Generate pre-bills and coordinate with attorneys and administrative staff for review and revisions
Review, edit, and validate time entries to ensure proper matter coding, billing rates, and adherence to e-billing and client guidelines
Enter and maintain billing data in the firm’s billing system with a high level of accuracy
Partner with attorneys, administrative staff, and accounting to resolve billing questions, discrepancies, and adjustments
Respond to client billing inquiries professionally, promptly, and with a service-focused approach
Produce time and billing reports and other client-related financial reports as needed
Conduct monthly reviews of retainer accounts and apply retainer funds appropriately to client invoices
Provide additional administrative support to the accounting team as needed
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities
Excellent communication skills and a client-service mindset
Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality while working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Eagerness to learn and grow within legal billing and accounting
Preferred
associate degree or related coursework in accounting, business, or a similar field
Prior experience in legal billing or accounting
experience with billing software
