Responsibilities

Under direct supervision, assists with selected routine and technical aspects of nursing care to patients of all ages

Works within job scope to meet the requirements of the Joint Commission and other applicable federal, state, and local regulatory or accrediting agencies

Assists with maintaining a physical environment which promotes healing

Nursing program enrollmentBasic Cardiac Life SupportClinical experienceRegulatory compliance knowledgePatient care assistance

Required

Must be enrolled in accredited school of nursing or a nursing program approved by the state board of nursing in the state the internship will occur

Completion of junior year of a Bachelor's in Nursing program or 2 clinical semesters of an Associates Nursing Program. All interns must enroll in a nursing co-operative type course for the summer semester

In North Dakota the student must have completed course work related to the department where the internship hours will be worked

Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 1 month of hire

BCLS certifications through Red Cross must be renewed through the American Heart Association if continuing as a senior nurse intern

This certification must not expire during the internship
