Employee Benefits Specialist

vTech Solution Inc is seeking a dynamic Employee Benefits Specialist to support their Human Resources department during a significant HR transformation. The role involves managing employee benefits programs, vendor relationships, and compliance while contributing to various HR initiatives.

Responsibilities

Serve as plan administrator for assigned employee benefits programs, ensuring effective vendor management and proper administration by third-party administrators (TPAs)
Manage benefits vendor relationships and take action to resolve routine claims issues
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key vendors and consultants
Apply a continuous improvement mindset to enhance processes, reduce costs, and improve efficiency of benefits programs
Process monthly benefits invoices and conduct monthly billing audits
Participate in the planning and development of benefits programs for salaried and union employees
Act as a subject matter expert for leave programs and employee benefits
Serve as the primary point of contact for managers, employees, Payroll, and other stakeholders throughout the leave management process
Support benefits communications, including new hire benefits orientation, employee enrollment assistance, educational sessions, updates to benefit guides and policies, and one-on-one employee inquiries
Participate in the preparation and evaluation of bids for benefits plan providers
Assist with preparation of the annual benefits budget and track program-related expenses
Collaborate with internal departments including Human Resources, Procurement, Legal, Accounting, Payroll, and IT to ensure compliance and delivery of high-quality employee services
Maintain ongoing education to stay current with applicable legal requirements and tax regulations impacting benefits programs
Complete special projects and additional duties as assigned

Required

Experience administering and supporting employee benefits programs, including claims processing
Strong knowledge of federal and state benefits-related laws and regulations, including HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, PFL, ADA, ERISA, and ACA
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
Strong research skills with the ability to stay current on benefits trends and regulatory changes
High attention to detail with strong analytical and quantitative skills
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint
Strong negotiation and organizational skills
Ability to work effectively with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate effectively in sensitive or high-pressure situations
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
2-year or 4-year degree required

Preferred

Working knowledge of SAP Personnel Module
