New GradThe Alliance for American Leadership (A4AL) is a nonpartisan coalition dedicated to revitalizing American leadership through strategic investments in development. They are currently seeking volunteer Press Secretaries to support their external communications strategy by drafting articles, press releases, and maintaining media relationships.
Government Relations
Responsibilities
Media relations interns will keep a close eye on the news and draft newsworthy press releases relevant to A4AL's audience and goals
They will contribute to the overall pitching strategy and keep track of performance to adjust strategy as needed
Interns will also help maintain journalist contact lists and update media databases
Additional support may include assisting the Communication Team with daily writing tasks and internal content review
Qualification
Required
Skills in English, Communications, Journalism, or Public Relations
Familiar with AP style writing
General understanding of media relations standards for pitching
Sharp writing skills
Time management skills
Preferred
Prior experience and existing journalist contact list is a plus
