The Designer I supports the engineering team by creating mechanical designs that meet customer and production requirements, utilizing CAD tools to develop 3D models and detailed drawings.

Responsibilities

Develop and refine mechanical designs based on specifications and application needs
Create precise 2D and 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings
Support weldment, assembly, and part design used across product lines
Build and maintain BOMs within ERP software
Collaborate with engineering, production, and cross-functional teams to solve design challenges
Contribute to design accuracy, manufacturability, and quality

Required

2-year degree in mechanical design or equivalent
Proficiency in Design Engineering principles from concept through refinement
Knowledge of mechanical systems, material properties, and structural mechanics
Stay up to date on SolidWorks, Inventor, and AutoCAD best practices for modeling and drawing
Experience using CAD software for 2D/3D modeling
Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and a teamwork mindset

Preferred

Familiarity with electrical systems in trailers/equipment is a plus
Experience in product or equipment design (manufacturing or transportation industry experience is a bonus)
