Analyst I – Cost
Carpenter Technology Corporation is a leading producer and distributor of premium specialty alloys, including titanium and nickel-based superalloys. They are seeking an Analyst I – Cost who will conduct financial analysis projects, review financial reports, and assist in the month-end closing process.

Responsibilities
Under direct supervision, responsible for conducting or assisting in the documentation of simple to moderate financial analysis projects
Reviews, for accuracy, routine financial and business-related reports/analyses in such areas as financial and expense performance, rate of return, depreciation, working capital, and investments
Assists in reviewing routine forecasts in manufacturing, sales, finance, general business conditions and other related areas as instructed
Utilizing PC and/or mainframe-based systems and software, compiles and prepares reports, graphs and charts of data developed
May assist in the month end closing process
Analyze, reconcile, report, and prepare journal entries
Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned
Qualification
Required
Four-year college degree in accounting, finance, or related degree and meaningful accounting coursework
Entry level position
Applies knowledge; has basic knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures in a function
Accountable for technical contribution to a project team or sub-team. Works with others to achieve team goals within scope of basic knowledge and skills within own function
Basic knowledge of accounting and financial theory, and of financial analysis techniques
Use existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems; applies limited judgement and discretion
Responds to standard requests from internal and/or external customers
Works within guidelines and direction provided by others to achieve objectives and meet deadlines
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions
Ability to work under frequently changing priorities
