Responsibilities
Establish and own the long-term vision for enterprise application platforms, including TMS, WMS, Financial ERP, EDI, and custom solutions
Lead platform selection, modernization initiatives, and build-vs-buy decision-making
Ensure alignment and cohesion across application roadmaps
Define how custom application development differentiates the business and extends core platforms
Set architectural standards, integration patterns, and extensibility strategies
Champion innovations that enhance automation, scalability, data flow, and overall customer experience
Lead Product Managers and Business Analysts responsible for backlogs, requirements, and stakeholder alignment
Provide strategic direction and prioritization frameworks while empowering teams to execute autonomously
Oversee major initiatives from ideation through production using disciplined SDLC and Agile practices
Act as a trusted advisor to the CIO and senior business leadership
Build strong partnerships across Operations, Transportation, Warehousing, Finance, and Customer Experience
Lead, develop, and scale internal and offshore teams across application development, integrations, and delivery
Ensure enterprise applications supporting 24/7 operations are reliable, secure, and well governed
Partner on resiliency, disaster recovery, security, and business continuity planning
Qualification
Required
10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience focused on application development and enterprise systems
Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams, including offshore delivery models
Hands-on experience supporting Transportation, Warehousing, Supply Chain, or Distribution environments
Strong executive presence with the ability to influence, align, and lead without micromanagement
Preferred
Experience working with TMS, WMS, ERP, EDI, and integration-heavy enterprise ecosystems
Background combining custom-built solutions with packaged platforms
Proven experience modernizing mature systems in operationally demanding environments
Master's degree is a plus
