Assistant Produce Manager

Responsibilities
Consistently demonstrate the Woods Supermarket D>E service and Hospitality 4
Function as a subject matter expert for the produce department
Participate in resets for produce department
Implement and assist in managing corporate goals and programs
Ability to verbally communicate to store staff expectations for the produce department
Ensure produce department is exceeding model store standards
Teaching and managing stores to expectations of center store standards, policies, and procedures
Assist Produce Manager in rotating product, displays, ordering, merchandising, and other duties as needed
Good listening skills
Strong verbal and written skills
Ability to present ideas in a group or one on one setting and accept constructive feedback
Understand department operations and have the ability to break down the business in a way that makes programs easy to execute and understand
Strong team player who must thrive in a collaborative environment (cross functional thought process)
Product knowledge and experience-previous center store department management experience is very desirable
Entrepreneurial thinker that works within a corporate environment
Learn and understand all company software systems
Strong Microsoft Office skills
Work strategically with the Produce Manager to manage department processes that will result in sales growth through the customer experience with exceptional execution
Creating standards of excellence resulting in shrink management
Know and recognize the cleaning and maintenance equipment, pallet jacks, forklifts, and baler controls
Comprehend forms used in the operation of the Produce Department
Respond to guest, vendor, and driver questions and responses, the intercom and phone, and teammate’s questions and responses
Comprehend case labels, case strips, signs, tags, shelf signs, numbers and aisle markers, department forms and employment forms
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
You must be 16 years of age or older to be employed for this role at Woods Supermarket
Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
Ability to provide prompt and courteous guest service
Ability to develop rapport, trust, and open communication that enhances the growth and job performance of store teammates
Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures
Ability to evaluate and drive performance of self and others
Ability to perform general cleaning duties to company standards
Ability to stay organized and multi-task in a professional and efficient manner, following instructions and giving attention to detail
