Western Regional Commercial Sales Manager
JA Solar is seeking a Western Regional Commercial Sales Manager to generate sales in the C&I and Community solar markets across the Western United States. The role involves customer acquisition, managing relationships, and developing business opportunities while achieving sales targets.
Responsibilities
Work closely with his/her manager to develop a strategy to target the C&I market with clear milestones and goals
Identify, contact and meet with prospects and customers to build a strong relationship to understand their needs and to position JA Solar to answer those needs
Maintain close contact via phone and online conferencing tools; find innovative ways to make contact to new customers and maintain relationships
Meticulously build, manage and sustain a pipeline of DG market opportunities
Achieve volume and margin targets for region
Participate in trade shows/conferences to identify prospects, represent JA Solar and entertain clients
Develop a comprehensive understanding of the JA Solar, its products and its market strategy
Collect market intel and provide a weekly update on market direction and competitor activities
Compose a weekly report of activity, travel and customer visits, as well as upcoming travel and items of key focus such as key prospect visits, contract negotiation, RFP responses, etc
Able and willing to travel 50% within the sales region; national travel 3-4 times per year
Sell 250MWs annually, Stretch goal of 350MWs, minimum of 50MWs per quarter
Develop a minimum of 20 new customer sales in 2024, stretch target of 30
Develop sales specifically in commercial and community solar markets
Manage ongoing pipeline of opportunities with sales specifics and probabilities
Collect, catalog and share market intelligence including, but not limited to: new and mainstream products (format, size, type, output), market pricing, updates on competitors, state and national policies, updates on customers
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing or equivalent
4-7 years of sales experience in solar, specifically as a manufacturer's rep
Highly knowledgeable with respect to the industry, technology and C&I/community solar sector
Role is fully remote. Location in Southwest is preferred. Candidate must have prior experience and proven career success while working as a remote employee with minimal supervision
Ability to manage and support multiple projects simultaneously, with varying complexities and urgencies presented day to day
Excellent people, entrepreneurial, organizational, and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Effective computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Willing to travel up to 30% of the time, including internationally
Must hold valid Driver License and passport, and be able of securing a China multi-entry business visa
