Responsibilities
Providing individualized, person-centered skills training and support
Ensuring that staff effectively assist individuals with developmental disabilities
Serving as a positive role model for teamwork
Help shape a compassionate work culture focused on individual advocacy, rights, informed decision-making, and dignity of risk
Promoting proficiency in OPWDD Core Competencies and the Code of Ethics
Reviewing orientation materials thoroughly and ensuring staff comprehension
Regular interactions with new staff, supervisors, and administration
Being empathetic while acting as a supportive liaison
Observing, coaching, and providing constructive feedback
Identifying performance concerns and fostering staff development
Qualification
Required
Effective communication skills
Strong leadership abilities
Organizational skills
Familiarity with software and tools related to training and documentation
Solid understanding of the NYS Justice Center and OPWDD regulations
Ability to promote proficiency in OPWDD Core Competencies and the Code of Ethics
Ability to observe, coach, and provide constructive feedback
Empathy and ability to act as a supportive liaison
Preferred
Bilingual in English and Spanish

The Arc Chemung-Schuyler provides supports and services to nearly 2,000 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism, and their families, primarily in Chemung and Schuyler Counties but does span across 18 counties, from Waverly in Tioga County, to West Seneca in Erie County.
