Thompson Coburn LLP is a large full-service law firm seeking an Accounting Manager for its St. Louis office. The Accounting Manager will oversee the firm’s financial operations, ensuring the integrity of the general ledger and compliance with regulations, while also leading a team and driving process improvements.

Law Practice

Responsibilities

Oversees cash flow, banking activity, and investment of excess funds to manage liquidity and minimize risk

Ensures accuracy of the general ledger and the posting of daily cash receipts

Leads internal control reviews and drives process improvements across accounting functions

Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

Coordinates preparation of federal, state, and local tax filings and related compliance

Manages fixed asset accounting, budget input, and insurance renewal data

Supervises and evaluates team performance; provides coaching and development

Required

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Strong understanding of GAAP and federal/state tax principles

Familiarity with payroll administration across multiple states

Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate sound judgment

Strong time management and problem-solving abilities

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required

Minimum 5 years of general accounting experience

Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience

Preferred

CPA preferred

Experience with Aderant and Workday Adaptive Planning preferred
