Roaring Fork Tax & Accounting is seeking an Accounting Team Lead to enhance client experience and manage day-to-day operations. The role involves client onboarding, operational excellence, and team leadership while ensuring accuracy and quality in accounting processes.

Responsibilities

Be the first friendly face (or voice) clients experience during onboarding

Translate 'accounting-speak' into clear, helpful guidance clients actually understand

Handle client questions, concerns, and escalations calmly and confidently before they become fires

Build genuine relationships with clients (we're not the 'head down, never talk' accounting stereotype)

Help refine and improve SOPs as we grow (roll sleeves up, build the plane while flying it)

Keep accuracy, timeliness, and quality high across clients

Monitor utilization and protect focus time by keeping non-billable work in check

Document and improve processes, including recording clear video trainings (Zoom, Loom, Fathom, etc.)

Client cleanups and chart of accounts rebuilds

Full-cycle AP/AR, progress billing, accrual accounting

Support job costing, inventory tracking, and other advanced accounting workflows

Share real client questions and challenges that could become helpful content

Provide technical expertise to help us create useful education for clients and prospects (no 'become an influencer' requirement)

Willing and able to lead and support a team of 2–4 Accounting Specialists, as we continue to grow our team
