Responsibilities
Own daily bookkeeping and general ledger activities within QuickBooks
Prepare and support month-end close, including reconciliations and journal entries
Reconcile all balance sheet accounts (bank accounts, credit cards, prepaid expenses, etc.)
Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
Process and manage accounts payable, including vendor bills, coding, and payments
Maintain vendor records, W-9s, and supporting documentation
Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing, payment application, and aging review
Follow up on past-due accounts as needed
Assist with payroll processing and reconcile payroll entries to the general ledger
Maintain employee files and basic HR-related documentation
Support 1099 preparation and year-end reporting
Prepare routine financial reports for internal review
Support cash tracking and basic cash flow visibility
Maintain organized, audit-ready documentation within QuickBooks
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and workflows
Qualification
Required
Expert-level proficiency in QuickBooks (required)
5+ years of hands-on bookkeeping or accounting experience
Strong experience with AP, AR, reconciliations, and month-end close
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Preferred
Experience in a sales, distribution, or service-driven business strongly preferred
