The role involves overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, supporting the month-end close process, and ensuring accurate financial reporting with a strong emphasis on inventory accounting and standard costing.

Responsibilities
Manage the monthly close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial schedules
Oversee inventory accounting, ensuring accuracy of inventory valuation, costing, and adjustments
Maintain and update standard cost models, including periodic review and analysis of cost variances
Conduct material variance analysis and explain key drivers impacting margins and operating results
Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and FP&A to reconcile inventory transactions and support cost-related initiatives
Assist with the preparation of financial statements and provide supporting documentation for audits
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
Identify and implement process improvements within inventory, costing, and general accounting workflows
Support system enhancements related to ERP and inventory modules
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required)
Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience
Strong expertise in standard costing and cost accounting methodologies
Excellent working knowledge of inventory accounting, including valuation, costing flows, and variance analysis
Solid understanding of GAAP
Strong Excel skills and comfort working within ERP systems
Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
Ability to work cross‑functionally and collaborate effectively with non‑finance teams
Preferred
Experience in the consumer products sector—retail, wholesale, e‑commerce, or CPG
ERP experience with systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, etc
Experience supporting audits and maintaining internal control frameworks
