Research Assistant, Sanjana Lab (in vivo)
The New York Genome Center is seeking a motivated individual to join the Sanjana Lab as a Research Assistant within a dynamic team focused on genomic research. The role involves performing research related to genome editing, immunotherapy, and functional genomics, alongside executing complex biological experiments and managing transgenic mouse colonies.

Responsibilities
Plan, execute and troubleshoot complex biological experiments both independently and in collaboration with colleagues
Maintain transgenic mouse colonies (breeding, weaning, and genotyping)
Techniques required for development and engraftment of human tumors in animal models, treatment with cell therapies and in vivo genetic screens: IM, IV and IP injection, orthotopic cell transplantation, bone marrow transplantation, in vivo imaging
Manage small independent projects that include molecular biology, cell culture, mouse work, expression analyses and computational biology. Not all of these skills are required but familiarity with some of them is helpful
Consult with scientific literature and other scientists as needed to better understand scientific experiments and problems, and propose solutions to emerging problems
Record and communicate findings accurately and professionally
Qualification
Required
BS in Biology or related field and demonstrated experience in experimental biology
Previous experience with mouse handling
Previous experience with mouse colony management
Familiarity with IRB protocol submissions
Ability to independently collect and analyze data
Exceptional attention to detail and meticulous execution and record of experiments is essential
