Accounting Manager (Work life balance!!) fully paid benefits
LHH is a well‑established and steadily growing organization based in Queens seeking a hands‑on Accounting Manager to lead its accounting team. The role involves overseeing the month‑end close, preparing financial statements, and maintaining balance sheet integrity while mentoring staff and collaborating closely with the CFO.
Responsibilities
Lead the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Oversee all balance sheet accounts, ensuring proper reconciliation and accuracy
Perform variance analysis and develop clear, meaningful commentary explaining material differences month over month
Review staff work for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to internal controls
Mentor, coach, and develop a talented accounting team, providing guidance and structure to support their long‑term growth
Partner closely with the CFO on financial initiatives, projects, and process enhancements
Utilize Microsoft Dynamics (experience is a plus, not required)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
Strong GAAP knowledge and hands‑on experience with financial statement preparation and month‑end close
Proven supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to coach and elevate staff
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to produce high‑quality variance explanations
High level of integrity, ownership, and attention to detail
Preferred
ERP experience preferred; Dynamics experience a plus
